Why Personalised Running Coaching Works

Successful running training is about more than simply accumulating miles. Personalised coaching gives you the right balance of endurance, intensity, recovery and event-specific preparation, with training that develops as your fitness improves and adapts when life gets in the way.

Training Built Around You

Your training should reflect your current fitness, running background, available time and goals. Rather than following a generic schedule, your programme is structured around you and progresses at a rate appropriate for your experience and target event.

Build Endurance Without Just Adding Miles

More mileage isn't always the answer. Long runs, easy running, threshold work and higher-intensity sessions are balanced to develop endurance and speed while managing fatigue and making the most of the training time you have available.

Prepare Specifically for Your Event

A road marathon, mountain trail race and ultramarathon place very different demands on the body. Your programme develops towards the distance, terrain, elevation and intensity of your target event, with pacing and fuelling integrated where they matter.

Adapt Training Around Real Life

Work, family, illness, travel and unexpected interruptions rarely fit neatly into a training plan. Coaching allows your programme to be adjusted when needed so you can stay consistent, manage recovery and keep progressing without trying to make up missed training.

Runners Coached by Enduraprep

From first marathons and personal bests to athletes balancing ambitious endurance goals with busy lives, Enduraprep coaching is built around the individual. Here are some experiences from athletes coached by Lawrence.

Marathon Training

“I’ve been training for a marathon and wanted Lawrence’s help in structuring my training whilst also staying motivated — on both he has exceeded expectations. His friendly approach, energy and constant communication make his plans a joy to train with.”

— Ciaran, Marathon Runner
Marathon PB

“Lawrence has been a great coach over the past year or so as I have trained for Ironman Wales via a marathon PB too. He has planned training around life events and helped me build back up from breaks in training.”

— Rachel McDowell
Multiple Marathon PBs

“During that time I have completed two marathons and two Ironman events, along with numerous shorter runs and triathlons. Lawrence has helped me to achieve PBs at each event, even with a variable shift pattern, holidays and social commitments.”

— Emma WH
Improved Fitness & Race Times

“Lawrence is an absolutely fantastic coach. Extremely knowledgeable, he designs and regularly reviews my training plan based on performance, plans and fatigue. My fitness and race times have come on massively since he started coaching me.”

Who Online Running Coaching Is For

Enduraprep running coaching is designed for runners who want personalised guidance, structured training and expert support, whether you're building towards your first major event, chasing a personal best or preparing for a demanding trail or ultra race.

Runners Building Towards Their First Big Goal

Taking on your first half marathon, marathon or another major running challenge? Coaching gives you a clear progression from where you are now to race day, helping you build fitness and confidence without simply adding more mileage.

Runners Chasing a Personal Best

If you already have a good endurance base but want to run faster, personalised coaching targets the areas limiting your performance through the right combination of endurance, threshold work, higher-intensity training and race-specific sessions.

Trail & Ultra Runners

Longer and more technical events require more than general running fitness. Training is tailored to the distance, terrain and elevation of your target race while developing the durability, pacing and fuelling strategy needed for long days on the trail.

Busy Runners Balancing Work & Family

Your training should work around your lifestyle, not take it over. Your programme is built around the time you actually have available, prioritising the sessions that matter and adapting when other commitments get in the way.

Runners Who Want Ongoing Support

If you value regular feedback, training adjustments and having a coach to guide your decisions, personalised coaching provides the accountability and support that a static training plan cannot offer.

Coached by Lawrence Cronk

Endurance coaching built on years of coaching athletes and taking on demanding endurance challenges first-hand.

I'm Lawrence Cronk, founder and endurance coach at Enduraprep. I've spent years helping runners, triathletes and endurance athletes prepare for everything from their first marathon to ultramarathons, Ironman events and ambitious personal challenges.

My approach isn't about simply giving you more miles to run. Training needs to create the right physiological stimulus while remaining realistic enough to fit around work, family and everything else going on in your life.

That means looking at the complete picture: your training history, current fitness, available time, recovery and the specific demands of the event you're preparing for. As your fitness develops or circumstances change, your training should change with you.

Online Running Coaching – Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions from runners considering personalised online coaching through Enduraprep.

How does online running coaching work?
Everything runs through TrainingPeaks. Your sessions are delivered through the platform and your training data can be uploaded from your GPS watch or running app. With Performance Coaching, your training is reviewed regularly, feedback is provided and your programme is adjusted when needed. With the Guided Plan, you receive a personalised four-week plan and monthly video guidance without ongoing workout-by-workout feedback.
Can my running plan fit around work and family?
Yes. Your training is structured around your real availability, including work, family commitments, holidays and other responsibilities. The aim is to prioritise the sessions that matter most while keeping your overall training realistic, consistent and sustainable.
Can coaching help me run faster or achieve a personal best?
Yes. Training can be built around a specific performance goal, with the right balance of endurance, threshold work, higher-intensity sessions and race-specific preparation. Your pacing strategy can also be refined using training data, recent race results and how you respond to key sessions.
Can you coach me for road, trail, marathon and ultra events?
Yes. Enduraprep coaching can support runners preparing for road races, half marathons, marathons, trail races and ultramarathons. Training is adapted to the distance, terrain, elevation, expected race duration and specific demands of your target event.
Will my running programme include strength training?
Where appropriate, strength and conditioning can be incorporated into your programme alongside your running. The amount and type of strength work will depend on your experience, available training time, event demands and the overall structure of your programme.
Will I receive help with pacing, fuelling and race-day strategy?
Yes. For longer races, training should include practising pacing, fuelling, hydration and race-day routines. Coaching helps you develop a realistic strategy based on your event, ability, expected finishing time and individual needs.
How far ahead of my target race should I start coaching?
The ideal timeline depends on your current fitness, running background and target event. For a marathon or major endurance goal, starting several months in advance gives time to build fitness progressively. Runners stepping up to an ultramarathon or a significantly more demanding event may benefit from an even longer build.
Can I book a consultation before committing?
Yes. A free, no-obligation consultation allows us to discuss your running background, goals, current fitness and available training time. We can then decide whether Performance Coaching or the Guided Plan is the most suitable option.
